Marc LeClerc discusses the second annual Big Telecom Event and why you should add it to your event schedule.
An important partner for ONF is Light Reading, which has built one of the industry’s most influential media resources. ONF and Light Reading have collaborated on a number of events over the past year, including the Big Telecom Event (BTE). Last year’s freshman event was impressive, with great speakers, interactions, and coverage in one of the truly great American cities - Chicago.
ONF has big plans for this year’s BTE, set to take place June 9 - 10. The day before the event kicks off, we will hold an ONF/SDN Workshop on Monday, June 8 from 1 - 5:30 p.m. CT that will offer insights into the state of carrier SDN, implementation experiences, use cases, and industry discussions. Speakers will include ONF Executive Director Dan Pitt; Clearpath Networks’ Marc Cohn; TELUS’ Nima Salehi; and leaders from industry groups, standards organizations, and open source projects.

During the conference, Dan Pitt and Axel Clauberg (ONF board member from Deutsche Telekom) will participate on a panel scheduled for Wednesday, June 10. At 9:50 a.m. CT, Dan and Axel will join ONF partner OpenDaylight’s Neela Jacques, XO Communications’ Amador Lucero, and ATIS’ Susan Miller for “A New Era of Cooperation?” to discuss the critical role of industry cooperation in advancing network technology transitions, and how that cooperation is being transformed by open source.
In addition, there will be an ONF stand on the exhibition floor, where ONF leaders will be available to discuss how the organization is driving open SDN and answer your questions.
