18 Organizations to Demonstrate Real-World SDN Use Cases at Premier Conference
SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 19, 2015 – The Open Networking Foundation (ONF), a non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the adoption of open Software-Defined Networking (SDN), and the Open Networking Summit (ONS), the industry’s only non-profit organization and event-based community that brings together the entire networking ecosystem to share advancements in open networking and virtualization technologies, announced the participants of the second annual SDN Solutions Showcase. This co-hosted showcase will be held during ONS2015, set to take place June 15 – 18, in Santa Clara, California.
A total of 21 showcases from 18 companies, industry organizations, and educational institutions, including 11 ONF member companies, are currently confirmed to participate in the SDN Solutions Showcase. Participants will demonstrate SDN technologies, products, and applications in real-world use cases. The SDN Solutions Showcase will be open during ONS expo hours from June 16 – 18. For the first time a broad range of SDN solutions based on OpenFlow®, OpenDaylight, the Open Network Operating System (ONOS), Open Platform for NFV (OPNFV), and vendor specific innovations will be demonstrated through pragmatic use cases.
“The SDN Solutions Showcase made its debut at ONS2014. It was built to show the industry the impact that SDN can have immediately on today’s networks,” said Dan Pitt, executive director of the Open Networking Foundation. “We know that network operators must continuously seek solutions for their evolving network problems. Our SDN Solutions Showcase will offer them new ideas and clear examples of implemented solutions that address known and important use cases relevant to their business success.”
The SDN Solutions Showcase at ONS2015 will be divided into themed demonstrations that address a wide range of applications, including carrier wide area networks (WAN), network functions virtualization (NFV), enterprise, security, testing, and data center. Organizations participating in this year’s showcase include: AT&T, ECODE Networks, Flowgrammable, Huawei, Internet2, KulCloud, Luxoft, NEC, NoviFlow, NTT Communications, One Convergence, ONF, ONOS, Spirent Communications, Tallac Networks, TELUS, UBIqube, and University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).
An essential forum for service providers and enterprises, ONS features speakers from the SDN industry comprised of thought leaders, business leaders, luminaries, early adopters and users, researchers, and innovators. ONS will present exclusive sessions and tracks highlighting SDN uses for data centers, service providers, enterprises, and more.
“ONS is an SDN and NFV event like no other, providing the best content that includes latest ideas to practical technologies to actual solutions with deployment experience for a global audience,” said Guru Parulkar, chair of the Open Networking Summit. “Working with ONF, we bring a set of exciting SDN and NFV Solutions demonstrations and it is one additional way that we are building upon our program to address the growing interests and needs of attendees.”

About ONS, Inc.
Created by the founders of software defined networking (SDN), Open Networking Summits Inc., a non-profit organization delivers events designed to foster an open, productive dialogue around the opportunities, challenges and key developments in the quickly evolving world of OpenFlow, SDN and network function virtualization (NFV). For the past four years, the industry’s premiere event – Open Networking Summit (ONS) – has brought the networking ecosystem of end-users, engineers, business leaders and researchers together in Silicon Valley to discuss the possibilities and shape the future of the networking industry. In addition to the annual summit, ONS offers other events to match the increasing pace of innovation in SDN/NFV/OpenFlow. These include the monthly ONS Inspire! Webinar Series, the ONS Accelerate! User-Led Workshop on SDN/NFV in Telecom Networks, the SDN Academy and the SDN Meetup events.
