In this community member profile, we would like to introduce Himanshu Purohit, Associate Architect at GS Lab Pvt. Ltd. in Pune, Maharashtra, India. He is an active contributor in the Open Networking Foundation’s OMEC community.
For the past three-and-half years, Himanshu has been working in the ONF’s OMEC community. He is responsible for the architecture and design of e-utran-features branch of ngic-rtc. He developed openmme, and libpfcp and libgtpv2c libraries for encoding/decoding pfcp and gtpv2c messages. Earlier, he developed a system for secure CDR processing using SGX. Currently, Himanshu is leading the team from GS Lab that is responsible for contributions to various features of ONF projects like ngic-rtc, C3PO, and Nucleus MME.
Himanshu holds a Post Graduate Diploma in IT from IIT Kharagpur, India; and an M.Sc. & B.Sc. - Information Science from Sardar Patel University, India. He has over 15 years of experience in the domain of endpoint security, virtualization, SDN and telecom. He has worked on various distributed systems. Before joining telecom domain, he was working in Software Defined Networking (SDN) domain.
“Engaging with ONF gives me an opportunity to work with industry leaders from different geographies” says Himanshu. “Quality discussions have helped a lot in learning new things in the telecom domain.”
Himanshu has been blessed with 3-year-old twins, a girl and a boy, and he loves playing with them during his free time. He also enjoys reading history books.
