In jobs ranging from Nortel through Ciena through Ericsson, not to mention a few start-ups, Dave has long been active in digital telecommunications, including switching, custom silicon, Sonet/SDH, OFDM, and in his most recent previous life, access networks. Dave held responsible positions in ITU-T, FSAN and BBF, and wrote the definitive book about GPON and XGPON.
In ONF, Dave has contributed as editor to optical transport, configuration and architecture working groups, and tracks several of the other WGs when he has the time.
